Preacherstribe

Here I am, is anyone listening... uhh, reading?

There was a time, many, many years ago and far, far away when I used to blog old-fashion style. I use to write the events of nearly everyday on legal paper and when I had four pages I would send it to a list of interested folks. Little did they know, they were receiving a "blog". (The word 'blog' sounds about right if you say it slowly and let fall out of your mouth into the mud.) I started that for my kids. When they left the nest they were not to be without some long distance parental/spiritual guidance. People, other than my kids, got wind of the project, and pretty soon I had thirty to fifty people peering into my soul.

Today I get a similar feeling when I read my kid's blogs. It's amazing how interesting every day life can be. Perhaps it's the language used or the style in which it is communicated. I'd rather think it is the fact that it is true life. I quit snail-mail blogging approximately thirteen years ago. There couldn't possibly be anything as remotely exciting in North America as it had been in Africa. Now I think I was wrong. Life is exciting. (The alternative, well... it isn't exciting.)

In any case, I am writing this first blog as a test run. I don't have a camera. I've never had a camera. I hate cameras, but I can see how useful they are to the viewing audience. So when my wife comes home from Africa (four days), I think I'll suggest getting a cheapo to experiment with. Any suggestions?

So, I'll let you know my blog address (three or four of you) and you can let me know if I got through to you.

By the way, it isn't called "Preacherstribe" for nothing. Don't read this thing if you don't appreciate being reminded that there is a heaven to win and a hell to shun. We are only here long enough to make a decision. Do we want to go to heaven or don't we? Then, get with the program.
